Alaska Whale Foundation (AWF) is a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to conserving Alaska’s marine mammals and their habitat through direct conservation actions, inspired research and engaging education programs.  The organization was established in 1996 by a group of biologists, educators, naturalists and professionals in various fields to support their shared vision and enthusiasm for marine conservation.  Principal funding for AWF's research, conservation and education programs comes from individual donors that share a passion for wildlife and conservation.
